Born 14 September 1983, singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse is known for her electic mix of diverse musical genres including soul, jazz and R&B. Her debut album 'Frank' was a commercial success and her 2006 follow-up album 'Black to Black' led to six Grammy Award nominations and five wins.

A the age of ten, Amy founded a short-lived rap group. She began full time training at a theatre school but was allegedly expelled for 'not applying herself' and for piercing her nose.
