Born on 12 March, musician Pete Doherty is also an artist, published writer and poet. The son of a major in the British army, Pete spent most of his early life between garrisons in Catterick, Belfast, Germany and Cyprus. Pete has the Sun and Mars in Pisces and many Pisceans are musicians or writers of lyrics. Charming, creative and attractive are just some of the traits that sum up the Neptune ruled personality. There can also be an aura of reserve around them which might be misinterpreted as indifference. Pisceans are a sucker for sob stories, they're deeply emotional and highly impressionable.

Pete was banned from playing with The Libertines until he could overcome his drug problems and so formed a new group Babyshambles. When Babyshambles' first gig was scheduled to take place Pete was arrested for burgling a flat and later sentenced to six months imprisonment for his crime.

With Mars opposing Saturn in his chart, Pete will often feel his attempts to fulfil his ambitions are blocked. It might seem to him as if other people or some higher force is deliberately preventing him from achieving when in fact his biggest obstacle is himself. Pete has Venus in Aquarius and this along with the Pisces influence in his chart shows his rebellious, eccentric tendencies. He has a strong sense of spirituality and is deeply sensitive and yet there is something inside that just can't stop him from causing controversy and turmoil.

The Sun's links with Neptune and Uranus highlight his spiritual side; Pete is drawn to Scientology and other spiritual practices. If he could find the right path for him, this would be beneficial in helping to cleanse him of his negative Neptunian tendencies. This isn't however going to happen any time soon. Because frustrations continue to lie ahead. Legal matters will be a source of conflict and Pete's health will suffer. There will be confusion and conflict and he will receive further treatment for his manic depression. There's also likely to be increased concern about his drug and mental problems as a consequence of yet another arrest later in the year.
